Intern Supervisor of the year award

Intern Supervisor of the Year

Honoring a Leader in Adoption, Social Work, and Family Support

Stephanie Pearl, founder and former Executive Director of A New Beginning Adoption Agency, was honored as Intern Supervisor of the Year in recognition of her outstanding leadership, mentorship, and commitment to developing the next generation of social workers. April Thorndyke, a former social work intern from Boise State University, nominated Stephanie for the award.

This recognition reflects more than professional achievement. It represents a lifelong dedication to supporting children, strengthening families, guiding individuals through meaningful decisions, and preparing future social workers to do their important work.

At A New Beginning, that same commitment continues today through compassionate, ethical adoption services in Idaho and unplanned pregnancy support across Idaho and throughout the United States.

What Is the Intern Supervisor of the Year Award?

The award recognizes excellence in mentoring social work students and providing ethical, hands-on training. Stephanie Pearl received this award through Boise State University’s Social Work program.

Why This Recognition Matters

Internships matter;  they help prepare our future social workers with essential skills and experiences to thrive and make a difference in their communities. This honor reflects the foundation of experience and leadership behind A New Beginning.

A Training Ground for Idaho’s Future Social Workers

Students from Boise State University, Idaho State University, and Northwest Nazarene University apply each semester.  Only one to three interns are selected, making this a highly competitive opportunity. Many of A New Beginning’s interns continue to work at the agency, continue on in another essential role, or start their own social work business.

Real Experience That Shapes Careers

Interns work directly with families, support unplanned pregnancy situations, build resources, and participate in education classes.

A Life Dedicated to Families

Stephanie Pearl built A New Beginning on compassion, dignity, and support.

Guiding Principles That Continue Today
