Vanessa Smith joined A New Beginning in December 2025 and serves as the agency’s Office Manager, where she helps keep the day-to-day operations running smoothly. From organizing paperwork and scheduling appointments to supporting staff and assisting families, Vanessa plays a key role in making sure everything stays on track. She is often the go-to person behind the scenes, helping ensure both staff and families have what they need throughout the adoption process.
Vanessa is especially passionate about walking alongside adoptive families and offering a supportive, welcoming presence for birth mothers when they first reach out. She understands that those initial steps can feel overwhelming, and she works to create a sense of calm, clarity, and reassurance from the very beginning.
Before joining A New Beginning, Vanessa worked in community-based roles, building connections and supporting individuals from all walks of life. As someone who was adopted herself, she brings a deeply personal perspective to her work and a strong passion for helping families come together.
What Vanessa loves most about her role is being able to offer hope to families at the very start of their journey. She values creating a space where people feel heard, supported, and understood, especially during what can be a vulnerable and emotional process.
Outside of work, Vanessa enjoys spending time with her husband and their young child, going on walks, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and making memories with the people she loves most.
