Choosing the Right Family

We understand how important it is to find the right adoptive family for your baby. That’s why we provide access to a diverse selection of approximately 50 pre-approved families at any given time, so you can choose the home that feels right to you.

All of our families have:

  • Completed an approved home study

  • Passed extensive background checks

  • Participated in in-depth training, including open adoption education

  • A deep understanding of what it means to honor your role and voice in this process

Because you are in control of this process, you’ll have the opportunity to review profiles, ask questions, and even meet the family you choose—if and when you feel ready.

From your very first call or message, you’ll be treated with kindness, dignity, and confidentiality. We recognize how brave it is to reach out and ask for help. As a result, we make it our mission to walk beside you with empathy and support, no matter what you decide.

Meet our Birth Mother Mentors

Our mentors, who have been through the adoption journey themselves, understand the challenges and complexities of an unplanned pregnancy. They offer invaluable support and work directly with you and your adoption team. If you haven’t connected with a Birth Mother Mentor yet, let us connect you to one.
Birth Mother Mentor

Meet Lauren

I’m Lauren and I’m now 32 years old. I made an adoption plan for my son in 2017 and chose the open adoption path. I enjoy spending time with him and his adoptive family.

Watching him grow is a wonderful gift and I am forever grateful! I believe it is my calling to support my fellow birth mothers. I love public speaking, my two dogs and tending to my houseplants. When I’m not jamming out to the Hamilton soundtrack you can find me hiking with my pups or volunteering with youth in the Gem County community.”

Birth Mother Mentor

Meet Hannah

My name is Hannah and my girl that I placed for adoption is almost 7 years old. Her family and I have a beautiful, open relationship and I am so blessed by it. I graduated with an RN degree in May 2022. Some of my hobbies are playing guitar, doing pastel art, outdoor activities. The reason I am a mentor and am passionate about it is because I want to support and help other girls get through what I went through. My goal is for them to know that they are not alone, are worth being loved, and that they are displaying such strength, courage, and selfless love through adoption.

Meet Meghan

My name is Meghan, I’m 22 years old, and I have been a birth mom for six years. I have been working as a mentor with the agency since I placed and am passionate about sharing my story and helping others. I am a graduate from Boise State University and am currently applying to law school. I currently work as a makeup artist at MAC Cosmetics and love it! My passions include paddle boarding, hiking, and animals.
Birht mother mentor gracie

Meet Gracie

Hello! My name is Gracie, and I have one birth son. My son whom I placed is now 7 years old. His family and I are incredibly close and have a relationship I could have never imagined for my son or myself. I love to fish, camp, read and spend time with my 2 dogs, and my fiancé. I want to become a mentor so I can help and support other young women during the placement like I did. I want you to feel that you are never alone, and that you are such a strong and courageous woman with so much ahead of you.

Pregnancy Services explained

Financial Support

We can assist with living expenses, medical expenses, food and help with transportation getting to and from your doctor’s appointments. Each situation is different and we’ll work together to determine which services will best suit your personal situation.

Medical Expenses

Ensuring both your health and your baby’s well-being is very important.  If you do not have a doctor, we will help you locate a doctor.  In some areas we are able to provide transportation to your medical appointments.  We can  help secure Pregnancy Medicaid assistance or we will cover medical expenses when you complete your adoption.

Living Expenses

Living expenses could include, but not limited to food, gas, utilities and cell phone bills.  Each person has different needs so together we’ll assess how we can be most helpful for a healthy pregnancy and a healthy you.

Legal Support
A New Beginning can partner with any attorney or we can help you find one who is available to navigate the legal requirements and process related to your unplanned pregnancy.  We have recommended attorneys who will advocate for your rights and your situation separate from the adoptive families.
Ongoing Support
Experiencing an unplanned pregnancy isn’t just one event in your life, it’s a lifelong journey.  Your adoption specialist provides emotional and mental support during your pregnancy, at the hospital during delivery, at time of child placement, and most of all, post pregnancy.  A New Beginning’s Post-Adoption Supports will be available to you long after your baby has been born.
Personal Adoption Professional and Advocate

You’ll be partnered with a dedicated adoption specialist who will support you throughout your unplanned pregnancy. They’ll guide you step-by-step in creating an adoption plan that reflects your values, needs, and wishes. Every decision is yours to make, and we’re here to provide support—not pressure—along the way.

Whether you choose an open, semi-open, or closed adoption, your adoption advocate will help you navigate and maintain the type of relationship that feels right for you. A New Beginning works with home study-approved adoptive families across Idaho and beyond, giving you the opportunity to choose the right match for you and your baby.

Creating your hospital plan and delivery support
When it’s time for you to have your baby, your adoption specialist will be on call to meet you at the hospital for the birth of your child. She is there for you for the planning of the hospital experience to the delivery and discharge from the hosptial.  Her support and guidance will continue afterwards as well.
Open adoption planning, mediation and support
Creating an adoption plan for your baby gives you the opportunity to make many choices throughout the adoption process.  Your specialist will help you design your personal plan to be an open-adoption, semi-open adoption or closed adoption.  It’s truly your choice.  Once its decided your adoption specialist will mediate and support you through meeting the adoptive family, the relationship agreement and communications.
Birth Mother support group and mentor
We have worked with many birth mothers who are powerful mentors for other birth mothers going through the experiences.  Additionally, a private Instagram account has been set-up, PRIVATELY for birth mothers to join and talk openly with others.  You’ll also be invited to join the Connections, It’s a Girl Thing, support group that meets multiple times per year.

Contact Cara if you are interested in participating in any of these groups.
