Hi there,

Although we don’t yet know you, we do know some things about you: you’re brave, you’re selfless and you value family. Those are qualities we respect greatly and we’re excited for the opportunity to introduce ourselves.

We’re Lacey & Jodi. We live in Idaho and have been together for eight years, married for five, and for the past year and a half we’ve been trying to start a family. At our core, we make the best team. Whether it’s tackling chores or beating our friends on game night, we know how to play to each other’s strengths – we’re often better when we’re together. We’re dog moms to the world’s most handsome dog. His name is Remy and he’s an eight-year-old German Wirehaired Pointer and he does pretty much everything with us.

By day Jodi is a Registered Nurse and Lacey works in nonprofit journalism. By night/whenever we’re not working, you might find Jodi in the kitchen and Lacey in the garden, or the two of us tacking another game onto our years-long Yahtzee tournament. We’re not-yet-retired athletes and lead a pretty active lifestyle camping, hiking, and playing all kinds of sports. We’re also diehard Buffalo Bills fans and that’s our non-negotiable.

Jodi is originally from Hawaii and came to Idaho to play college basketball. Lacey is from Buffalo, New York and came to Idaho for her Master’s degree. But we’ve been in the Gem State for decades now and have made this place our home. With that said, we try to get back to our home states at least once a year and our families come visit us often – a lot more now that both our parents are retired.

Although we’re both miles away from where we were raised, we’ve built a family here. This quote sums it up: “Family isn’t always blood. It’s the people in your life who want you in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what.”

We get excited (and teary-eyed) at the thought of all the joy a child would bring to our lives. We’re anxious to watch them grow, see their brains learn new things and their minds take in the world. We’ll be there for all of it, to support their curiosity and their mistakes. But our biggest desire is to raise a good human. We want this child to feel confident in their identity and where they came from, which is why we believe so strongly in the importance of an open adoption.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us a bit. We celebrate and honor you, because without your strength and courage, our journey to become parents would never begin.

I’d like more information about Lacey & Jodi
