“Adoption is love through sacrifice, hope from pain and joy after tragedy. Our promise to you is that your child will ALWAYS know the profound amount of love you have for them.”

Hello and thank you for taking a moment to get to know us a little bit better! We are Jason and Julia and have two sons – Everett and Gabriel (Gabey). We also have a sweet 1 year old Giant Schnauzer named Molly!

We (Jason and Julia) met in the Portland area in 2009 while she was on her clinical internship for x-ray. Following graduation that summer we moved to Spokane, WA in the fall of 2009 to follow a job offer. We were engaged in 2010 and then married the following year in 2011. We had our eldest son in 2014 (Everett) and then Gabey followed shortly after in 2017. It is so hard to believe that in 2024 we will celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary!

A few years ago, we hopped the border and moved to the Post Falls, ID area to purchase land and build our dream home. Although it was a long and stressful process, it was so worth it in the end, as many of the best things in life are. Upon finishing our home, we both felt that our family wasn’t complete yet. Adoption immediately came to both of our minds – primarily because it has already been such a huge part of both of our lives. Julia is adopted through an international adoption (from South Korea), and her adoptive father was also adopted. Jason’s mother and his uncle were both adopted as well. Because adoption is such a huge part of both of our families’ histories, the choice to pursue adoption feels like a natural way to continue a legacy of making families out of more than just DNA.

Our favorite things to do revolve around making memories with our children. We love to spend as much time in nature as we can, but we are also known to do amazing movie nights, game days inside and epic Mario Kart battles on the Switch. Summers involve lots of swimming, camping, going to Silverwood and getting ice cream. Our winters are spent sledding, building snowmen and seeing family. Short term future goals for us include creating a beautiful garden space next to our new home and eventually raising chickens. Longer term goals include possible trips to Disneyland, Thailand or Mexico as a family.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit more about us. Adoption is so complicated and such a mix of emotions. It takes so much courage to walk this path but both of our families carry the testimony of the beauty that is possible through this choice. We wish you peace in your decision and hope that we get the chance to know you as well.
