We are Jason and Carissa. We are so excited to be parents, and we are so grateful that you have the courage to consider an adoption plan!
We met in 2007 at Northwest Nazarene University, where we both studied science. As Jason likes to say, “we had chemistry together!” We now have 13 years of friendship and almost 7 years of marriage binding us together. We’ve experienced some hard times and some great times in our marriage, and we’ve chosen to grow closer together through everything.
As a couple, we enjoy spending time outdoors: camping, hiking, fishing, and playing in the snow. When we travel, we like to spend time with family and visit national parks. We’re also a bit nerdy! We have shelves full of board games that we enjoy collecting and playing together and with friends. Jason likes comic books, reading a good fantasy or sci-fi novel, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and occasionally enjoying a video game with friends. Carissa enjoys baking decadent treats, reading dystopian future books, and doing crafty things including painting and card-making. We share our home with an adorable, cuddly kitty, named Parker.
Jason works as a field service technician in the beverage industry. He likes troubleshooting problems and working with his hands in a variety of settings. Carissa is a high school science teacher and enjoys building relationships with the teens in her class. We both consider ourselves lifelong learners and are excited to experience learning alongside a child.
We think that so much of life is better when shared and experienced with children. We’ve wanted to be parents for so many years, and we are filled with anticipation at welcoming a baby into our home. Both of us love spending time with our niece, nephew, and friends’ children, and we are ready to invest our whole lives in parenting a little one.
Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know us a little bit. We would love the opportunity to get to know you as well!
