Expectant Parent’s Group: Match Interview Preparation
February 16th, 2023 ~ 5 – 7pm MST
 

In this session of Expectant Parent’s Group we will discuss the do’s and don’ts of match meetings. We will discuss possible questions a birth mother may ask you, and ways you can prepare for those. In addition, we will have a staff role play of a match meeting where the audience identifies the strengths and weaknesses in that mock match meeting.

Extended Family Class
May 16th, 2023 ~ 6 – 8pm MST
November 9th, 2023 ~ 6 – 8pm MST

Bring your family and friends to learn about how they can support you as you bring a child  into your family.  We will talk about transitioning your child into your family, adoption terminology, how much of your child’s story to tell others and ways your people can support you.   This is traditionally a class that fills quickly.  Please plan to RSVP with the total number you wish to bring.

This class is free to current ANB families, but registration is required, as well as filling out and submitting a form to admin@adoptanewbeginning.org

Car Seat Safety
June 21st , 2023 ~ 6pm MST

In this session of Expectant Parent’s Group will cover car seat safety. We know as first time parents it can be overwhelming to think about all of the information you need to learn while caring for your little one. We also know how confusing car seats can be, so we hope you will join us for our class! This class provides basic awareness about car steat use and how to properly use a car seat, and we’ll also answer any questions you may have.

Expectant Parent Group: Support During the Wait
September 12th, 2023 ~ 6 – 8pm MST

In this session of Expectant Parent’s Group we will discuss how A  New Beginning staff supports families while in the waiting pool.  We will discuss self care and ways we provide ongoing supports and resources while you wait. In addition, we will have a panel of adoptive parents who experienced longer waits.

Expectant Parent’s Group: Preparing for Hospital
November 28th, 2023 ~ 6 – 8pm MST

In this session of Expectant Parent’s Group we will discuss the process of how A New Beginning staff prepares you for your hospital experience. We will discuss the creation of a hospital plan for birth parents and adoptive parents, providing examples for group discussion. Discussion will be held on grief and loss for all members of the adoption triad. In addition, we will also discuss hospital processes and restrictions, and answer all questions.
