Personal Profile
My husband, Greg, and his three sisters were adopted as infants. His sisters were adopted through the Foster Care System and Greg was adopted privately.
I have been so impressed by the unconditional love and commitment exhibited by adoptive parents to their children.
His parents' friend was a doctor and Greg's mom would joke with him and ask if he had a baby for them. Then one day he called them and said he did have a baby for them! They were so excited and headed straight to the hospital to feed him his very first bottle.
Wow, how adoption has changed in the last 30 years! Greg's parents have always been open and positive about all of their adoptions. He always knew he was adopted and feels blessed to have been adopted by his family. Adoption has always been seen as a wonderful part of becoming who they are individually and as a family.
Greg is a wonderful husband and we have two fantastic active boys ages five and two. I love to read, scuba dive, hike, bike, cook and do anything in the great outdoors. As a family we love to ski and travel, especially internationally.
Professional Background
I earned my Social Work Degree from BYU. in Utah. I have been working as an adoption social worker for five years. During that time I specialized in Special Needs Adoptions and worked primarily with children who were available for adoption through the foster care system. It was my goal to quickly move foster children into their permanent adoptive families.
The most fulfilling part of my work was seeing kids placed with a family who was fully committed to them. I have been so impressed by the unconditional love and commitment exhibited by adoptive parents to their children. I am extremely excited to work with families pursuing International, U.S., and Foster Care adoptions.
