Are you pregnant and not sure what to do? Experiencing an unplanned pregnancy can be scary and confusing.   A New Beginning cares about you and your baby and will explain your unplanned pregnancy options in a safe and comfortable environment.   Whether you decide to parent or make an adoption plan, it’s important for you to make an educated decision about your pregnancy.   Your options will be discussed with one of our adoption specialist or licensed counselors.

Regardless of your choice, you will experience many emotions, make difficult decisions and participate/complete the legal process for adoption. A New Beginning provides free and confidential counseling throughout your experience.  Our expertise is adoption.  We provide each of our birth mothers with profiles of pre-approved adoptive families from which you can select as a home for your baby and we have an adoption attorney who can handle all of your legal requirements.  Approved adoptive parents have been through a rigorous background check, extensive training, understand open-adoption and have a complete home study.  Above all, we never want you to feel alone.  Your personal advocate from A New Beginning will guide you every step of the way. From your first contact with us you will be treated with the respect you deserve.

You may be scared, confused and even feel lost or alone. A New Beginning’s professional and licensed counselor will guide you through the choices in a safe and no-pressure environment. Whether you choose to parent or make an adoption plan, we are here to help through the process and after your pregnancy.

Legal Assistance

A New Beginning has a legal partner that is available to navigate the legal requirements and process related to your unplanned pregnancy.    Shelly Cozakos is a compassionate attorney who has worked with our birth mothers and adoptive parents for many years and continues her work with women’s causes with the Women’s and Children’s Alliance and more.  Meet Shelly Cozakos.

Living Expenses

Your adoption specialist will assist you through the adoption journey which includes helping you with living expenses.  This could include, but not limited to food, gas, utilities and cell phone bills.  Each person has different needs so together we’ll assess how we can be most helpful for a healthy pregnancy and a healthy you.

Medical Expenses

Your health and your baby’s health is very important.  If you do not have a doctor, we will help you locate a doctor.  In some areas of Idaho we are able to provide transportation to your medical appointments.  If you are without insurance, we will help secure Medicaid assistance  or we will cover medical expenses when you complete your adoption.

Financial Support

Financial support during your pregnancy comes in a variety of ways.  We can assist with living expenses, medical expenses, food and help with transportation getting to and from your doctor’s appointments.  Each situation is different and we’ll work together to determine which services will best suit your personal situation.

Ongoing support

Experiencing an unplanned pregnancy isn’t just one event in your life, it’s a lifelong journey.  Your adoption specialist not only provides assistance and support during your pregnancy, at the hospital during delivery and at time of child placement, but also afterwards.

Personal Adoption Professional and advocate

You will have an an assigned adoption specialist to help you through you unplanned pregnancy.  They personally guide you through making an adoption plan for you and your child.  All of the choices in this plan are YOURS and we will assist you in making the decisions that are best for YOU.  Open-adoption, semi-open adoption or closed adoption, it’s your choice.  Developing and maintaining your relationship plan with the adoptive family is mediated by your personal adoption advocate.   A New Beginning has home study approved and waiting adoptive families in Idaho and other States so that you can choose the family that is best for you and your baby. Each of our families have been through an adoption training program that addresses parenting and adopting a child, potential special needs, blending their families and maintaining a relationship with the birth family.

Creating your Hospital plan and Delivery support

When it’s time for you to have your baby, your adoption specialist will be on call to meet you at the hospital for the birth of your child. She is there for you for the planning of the hospital experience to the delivery and discharge from the hosptial.  Her support and guidance will continue afterwards as well.

Open Adoption planning, mediation and support

Creating an adoption plan for your baby gives you the opportunity to make many choices throughout the adoption process.  Your specialist will help you design your personal plan to be an open-adoption, semi-open adoption or closed adoption.  It’s truly your choice.  Once its decided your adoption specialist will mediate and support you through meeting the adoptive family, the relationship agreement and communications.

Birth Mother support group and mentor

We have worked with many birth mothers who are powerful mentors for other birth mothers going through the experiences.  Additionally, a private Facebook account has been set-up, PRIVATELY for birth mothers to join and talk openly with others.  You’ll also be invited to join the Connections, It’s a Girl Thing, support group that meets on a monthly basis.   Contact us, if you are interested in participating in any of these groups.
