Infant Awareness TrainingSpaulding for Children was awarded the national grant to provide Infant Adoption Awareness training. The Infant Adoption Awareness Training Program (IAATP) is a federally funded training program targeted to train health care professionals who provide information, referrals or counseling for teens or women facing an unintended pregnancy. In November of 2007 A New Beginning Adoption Agency was invited by Spaulding for Children to become the lead agency providing this training in the State of Idaho.

This free training program “Understanding Infant Adoption” provides information and helps professionals develop the skills needed to effectively and comfortably present ‘adoption as an option’ on a equal basis with any other option to patients and clients who are not sure that they are able to parent the child. In this training you will learn about: adoption law and practice in Idaho, birth father rights and responsibilities, special issues in counseling teens, social and cultural influences, non directive techniques, local resources and much more. This professional development opportunity can be held at your location at the convenience of your staff.
